The purpose of external school review is to support schools to raise student achievement and sustain high performance. The process is transparent and contributes to the realisation of the department’s strategic plan to build a high performing system, provide quality assurance, and build public confidence in SA government schools. The external school review framework has been developed with reference to the department’s policies and national and international school effectiveness and school improvement models.
